How does it work?

The COO-L Prepaid Card can be used to make payment in the same way as other bank cards but has some restrictions.

Any unspent money on the card can be carried over into the next month, subject to a maximum of 3 months total. All monies not spent at the end of the scheme are returned to London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council.

Young people will not be able to use the card at outlets which are not part of the scheme and will not be able to go into debt using the card. The card is authorised online at every transaction and will only allow payment if there is enough money on the card.
